Singer-songwriter and musician Amahla taps into an era before her time to create vintage-inspired soul music. After releasing her debut single ‘Old Soul’ Amahla was awarded the PRS Lynsey De Paul Prize for outstanding female songwriters. She also rounded off 2018 as a recipient of the second ever MOBO Help Musicians fund for her exceptional voice. Amahla began 2019 with the release of her debut EP ‘Consider This’ and playing sets at The Jazz Cafe, Royal Albert Hall and her sold out show at the Roundhouse. ‘Consider This’ has since received support from Complex, Earmilk, BBC Radio London and BBC 1Xtra. Unafraid to explore themes of race, gender and class, Amahla is an important voice with an undeniably talented songwriter at its core. Already writing and performing her own music, as a student on Urban Artist School, Amahla expanded her knowledge of the music industry, learning how to nurture her fanbase and build a targeted release campaign.
